A note about summer beach portraits:
We're starting to learn (almost the hard way) that beach portraits in the summer months are difficult. It rains almost daily here, and usually in the afternoon or evening.
So, if you're planning a vacation and want beach portraits, it would be smart to plan your portraits towards the beginning of your trip, in case we get rained out!

We met the Wilson family at Aloha Kai to do their beach portraits. We managed to miss the thunderstorms once again and even got to see a beautiful (double) rainbow that lasted for almost an hour.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your vacation and thanks again for your flexibility!

We did these family portraits on Father's Day for Jason's mom - aren't our nephews cute? These were taken at The Oaks Club in Osprey.
Sometimes it is much more difficult to photograph people you know than people you don't know... It was definitely our FASTEST photo shoot ever, between squirming kids and extremely HOT weather... but we got some nice shots anyway!

More dodging bad weather later that evening... there were thunder and lightning events happening all around us, but we lucked out and our spot on Siesta Key was untouched by the storms. We got some great family shots of the Buchanans and some nice ones of the two boys as well. Thanks!

June 12 & 13, 2008
The Dobson family was staying at Siesta Dunes and wanted a portrait to commemorate their family reunion. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate on the 12th and we had to cancel. The Dobsons were flexible and agreed to shoot their beach portraits the next day at a different time.
Then, the weather was bad AGAIN! We shot a bunch of family photos inside their condo with a nice outdoor scene in the background and we lucked out because the rain stopped just long enough to get some great shots on the beach too!
Thanks to the whole family for their patience and flexibility and especially to the kids - you were great!
